Four decisions before you order
- Usual number of guests: design for everyday use and handle big gatherings with extra flexible seats if space allows.
- Walkways: try opening the door, serving coffee and reaching the seats without walking around the table.
- Seat depth: sit on a real sample; a depth that suits a tall person may not suit a shorter one, and cushions change the feel.
- Fabric: ask for a sample and test its feel and cleaning in daylight and artificial light. The weave and its care matter more than how light the colour is.
A useful test at home
Mark the sofa and table outlines on the floor with removable tape, then walk between them before confirming sizes. Don't forget sockets, curtains and air-conditioning units.
